A name originating in the 1970s, Amerigo was founded as a builder of truck campers. Revived in 1991 after a long time out of the recreational vehicle industry, the Amerigo name was be associated with camping trailers, fifth wheel and travel trailers as well as park models in addition to truck campers. Amerigo would end production for a second time after the 1993 model year.
