Don Christy, Jr.
President and CEO
With more than 34 years of publishing and business management experience, Don Christy, Jr. serves as the President and CEO of NADAguides. Christy joined NADAguides in 1976 holding positions in distribution, editorial and organizational management and working closely with his father; NADAguides founder Don Christy, Sr., as the brand grew from traditional appraisal guides to the largest online vehicle information and valuation resource today.
Christy began his tenure with the organization in guidebook distribution and quickly moved to the sales department where he managed the strategic development of new business alliances in the banking, insurance, and automotive industries. Additionally, Christy established relationships with government regulatory agencies and finance professionals, helping to establish the company as the respected leader in vehicle valuation information.
In 1980, Christy became instrumental in developing the Motorcycle, Marine, Older Car and Collector Car Guides when he transitioned to the editorial department. He spent much of his time on the road traveling to tradeshows, introducing new products and learning about the needs of industry professionals. In 1984, Christy became managing editor and 4 years later, he was appointed to the position of general manager and marketing director, overseeing all daily operations, as well as maintaining profitability with the company's comprehensive client roster.
In 1991, Christy assumed responsibility as the President and CEO of NADAguides, becoming the visionary leader for the company's traditional and online operations.
Christy's hands-on leadership approach, his intrinsic understanding of traditional business initiatives and his in-depth understanding of technology have helped him steer NADAguides to the forefront of vehicle information publishing. Under his direction, NADAguides has grown from a relatively unknown automotive information website to one of the top automotive websites in the country today.
Christy's love for collectible cars and his passion for motorsports make him one of the publishing industry's most avid vehicle enthusiasts – attributes that have helped him manage and relate to his staff, industry professionals and consumers on virtually every level.
Vice President of Operations
Lenny Sims is the Vice President of Operations at NADAguides. Bringing nearly 30 years of editorial, managerial, business development and publishing experience to the company, Sims has devoted his entire career to building the NADA brand – from developing in-depth valuation methodologies for the company’s broad range of traditional vehicle appraisal guidebooks to spearheading the development, launch and continued successful expansion of the company’s online consumer website.
In 1984, Sims was appointed to the position of Editorial Specialist and several years later, he was promoted to the position of Managing Editor. With this promotion came the responsibility of spearheading all editorial processes at the company, with a special focus on RVs, motorcycles and limousines. Sims combined his intrinsic knowledge of vehicle valuations, his successful business management experience and his extensive knowledge of multiple vehicle markets to help steer the traditional brand, N.A.D.A. Appraisal Guides, to the forefront of the valuation industry.
In 1996, Sims became Vice President of Operations for the company and in this role, he manages many facets of the organization, including business development, sales and marketing, industry data aggregation, and editorial evaluation. Additionally, he serves as one of the company’s media spokespersons and is currently a chairperson for numerous vehicle guidebook committees across the country.
In addition to being an industry expert, Sims is a vehicle enthusiast and enjoys spending time attending various RV, motorcycle, snowmobile and limousine shows throughout the country to preview the latest and greatest manufacturer additions. It's this enjoyment of vehicles combined with a genuine commitment to excellence that has helped Sims build and cultivate the NADAguides.com brand.
Director of Product Development
Troy Snyder graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a degree in marketing in April of 1998 from the Smeal College of Business.
Snyder joined NADAguides in 2003 as the Director of Marketing overseeing both digital and traditional marketing strategies for print valuation guidebooks and the consumer website NADAguides.com.
In 2005, Snyder was promoted to Director of Sales, Marketing and Public Relations to guide sales tactics, digital marketing initiatives and brand awareness efforts and goals.
In 2008, Snyder was promoted to his current role of Director of Product Development. Snyder's chief responsibilities include the planning, implementation and management of new product development and existing print, mobile and web-based consumer and commercial data products and services. Snyder is responsible for leading the marketing, public relations, quality control, technical development and business analytical departments.
Snyder additionally serves as NADAguides' media spokesperson addressing interviews regarding consumer shopping behaviors and trends and product launches.
In 1994, Sherrie Clevenger joined NADAguides as Editorial Assistant where she was responsible for data analysis, copy editing, publication deadline management and advisory board communication initiatives for the company's Manufactured Housing, Classic Car and Aircraft editorial departments.
She was then promoted to Assistant Editor of the Manufactured Housing department, where she was appointed project manager and lead specialist for the redesign of the NADA Manufactured Housing Cost CD-ROM, released in September 2006.
Shortly thereafter, Clevenger was promoted to Manufactured Housing Editor. In this role, she was responsible for managing market analysis and data processing of the NADA Manufactured Housing Appraisal Guide and CD-ROM products. Additionally, she served as the company's National Appraisal System expert, fielding questions regarding real and personal property appraisals, as well as the driving force behind the development of the company's consumer-facing online valuation tool, launched in November 2007.
Today, Clevenger is Managing Editor of the company's broad range of valuations, tools and services, in both print and electronic form. In addition to overseeing data and market analysis, she manages a staff of experienced editors in the Motorcycle, RV, Marine, Classic Car, Title & Registration and Manufactured Housing departments, while continuing to maintain all functions of Editor/Data Market Analyst for the company's popular Manufactured Housing Appraisal Guide.
