Producing their first vessels under the name of Red Fish Boats in 1959, the IMP Boats name was first employed during the 1960s. IMP Boats sold a wide range of fiberglass watercraft, bow rider, cuddy cruiser and walk around style boats. IMP Boats constructed recreational vessels ideal for skiing, fishing and cruising on the water. A marine manufacturer operating in Iola, Kansas, IMP Boats went out of business in 2003.
